WATCH: CGA’s newest video in educational series, “Tips for Effective Use of 811”

CGA’s Educational Programs & Marketing Committee is developing a series of educational videos and supporting materials that inform each stakeholder group of how they can more effectively use 811 to streamline the damage prevention process. Because damage prevention is a responsibility shared among all stakeholder groups, the 811 system is at its most effective and efficient when stakeholders actively work together to fulfill their roles to the best of their ability. The goal of this video series, “Tips for Effective Use of 811,” is to help stakeholders understand how they can improve their organization's own processes to do their part in streamlining the 811 system. 

CGA is excited to share the second video in the series, which focuses on what facility owners/operators can do to aid in improving the efficiency of the 811 system.

The video highlights several key recommendations for facility owners/operators to keep their buried assets protected and those who live and work around them safe, including information on managing their locate requests, marking appropriately depending on terrain and weather, fostering relationships with other stakeholders and more.

The Educational Programs & Marketing Committee has also created supporting materials to accompany this video, including infographics, social media post examples and more to help damage prevention stakeholders share this helpful information with their networks. The first video in this series, which focuses on excavator’s effective use of the 811 system, is also available in CGA’s 811 Tips for Excavators Toolkit, along with supporting social media messages, infographics and more.
