Input Needed: GIS in Damage Prevention

CGA’s Next Practices Initiative needs your feedback on a quick survey gauging awareness and implementation of GIS (geographic information system). If you have not done so already, please take a few moments to respond to the survey today.

GIS is a system that creates, manages, analyzes and digitally maps any type of data, and is increasingly viewed as a pathway for making facility mapping more accurate and accessible. CGA’s Next Practices Initiative has identified the implementation and use of GIS as a primary opportunity to make the U.S. damage prevention system more efficient and effective at driving down the rate of annual damages.

Regardless of whether your organization utilizes GIS, please take a moment to respond to our quick survey to help CGA’s Next Practices Initiative understand the level of GIS awareness and adoption across the industry.

This brief survey also includes questions about facility mapping in general that can help us uncover avenues for integrating data systems, providing highly accurate location data, and other strategies for drastically reducing damages to buried facilities.

Thank you for your commitment to damage prevention!
