CGA will host a webinar on Thursday, March 2 at 1:30 p.m. ET focused on CGA’s new video series, “Tips for Effective Use of 811.” The series, created by CGA’s Educational Programs & Marketing Committee, consists of stakeholder-specific videos and accompanying materials that detail the simple, actionable changes that excavators and facility owner/operators can make within their organizations to make the 811 system more effective and efficient.
In 2021, CGA’s Next Practices Report to the Industry highlighted how addressing systemic inefficiencies would greatly improve the 811 system as a whole. CGA’s Educational Programs & Marketing Committee recognized this as an opportunity to create an educational tool that shines a light on key areas of inefficiency and offers practical solutions for how specific stakeholder groups can tweak processes to benefit the 811 system. We encourage stakeholders to utilize the video series to communicate the core idea that damage prevention is a shared responsibility among all stakeholders, and that everyone can take steps to make the 811 system more effective.
During the webinar, we will be joined by members of CGA’s Educational Programs & Marketing Committee, as well as the Video Education on the Impacts of One Call Misuse task team. Committee co-chair Tracey Bryant (CenterPoint Energy) will share background information on the task team’s efforts to directly address key inefficiencies within the system, and task team chair Shakheana Harrison (Texas811) will dive into the collaborative development of the videos based on input from a variety of CGA’s stakeholder groups. Webinar attendees will also hear from committee member Sandy Holmes (Arizona 811), who will discuss the ways Arizona 811 incorporated the video series into its online learning managing systems (LMS), and how other organizations can effectively incorporate these resources into their existing educational programming.
Register for the Thursday, March 2 webinar to learn how your organization can use this educational video series to achieve the greatest possible impact.
