How Should 811 Campaign Materials be Improved?

With 8/11 Day on the horizon, it's the perfect time to be focusing on improving damage prevention outreach.

By taking this short survey, you will be providing CGA with invaluable information about how to effectively improve safe digging educational efforts, which can save lives and prevent catastrophic utility damages.

Speaking of 8/11 Day, CGA is looking forward to seeing what you and your organization have planned! Please submit your 8/11 Day campaign on Engage to share your plans with other members, and visit the 8/11 Day Toolkit for additional campaign ideas and resources. For a little inspiration, here’s what a couple of organizations are doing this year for 8/11 Day:

  • Columbia Gas of Ohio is partnering with minor league baseball team the Toledo Mud Hens, including giveaway items and a promotional first pitch.
  • Dig Safe New England is airing radio PSAs during the Red Sox v. Orioles game on Aug. 11 as well as sponsoring an 811 banner beach flyover and a billboard at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
  • Nevada Regional Common Ground Alliance is hosting an 8/11 Day celebration at Cowabunga Bay in Las Vegas with various 811 promotional items.

CGA is excited to announce our 8/11 Day Satellite Media Tour which will broadcast the 811 safety message across the airwaves on Aug. 11. CGA President and CEO Sarah Magruder Lyle will be emphasizing the importance of damage prevention in TV and radio interviews that will air across the country on 8/11 Day, reaching professionals and homeowners.

We appreciate your input on the future of the 811 campaign and look forward to seeing what you have planned for this 8/11 Day!
