Each year on Aug. 11, damage prevention stakeholders around the country remind homeowners and professionals alike to contact 811 before digging to protect critical underground infrastructure. Regardless of the size and scope of a project, 811 is a necessary first step to ensuring a safe and successful dig every time.
We encourage you to leverage CGA's 8/11 Day Toolkit in your planning. Equipped with media outreach templates, interview guides, social media messages, new infographics and more, the 8/11 Day Toolkit can help you effectively spread the safe digging message. CGA’s excavator toolkit also includes 8/11 Day materials to help you strategically reach excavators about 811 and safe digging practices.
Earlier this year, CGA released the new national 811 tagline, “Safety is in Your Hands. Every Dig. Every Time.,” which pivoted from a focus on awareness to behavioral change—a crucial step in driving significant industry progress toward our goal of reducing damages by 50% in five years. 8/11 Day presents the perfect opportunity to share the updated 811 message with both professionals and homeowners in your area, whether through social media, safety trainings, local partnerships or otherwise. The new tagline and 811 logo animation, including the Spanish version, can be accessed in a variety of file types here.
A fantastic way to put the new tagline front and center this 8/11 Day is by incorporating your new CGA 811 branded T-shirts, which feature the 811 logo and new tagline, into your activations. If you placed a T-shirt order in June, it will be shipped by July 31, which will get your T-shirts to you right before 8/11 Day!
