2025 CGA Conference & Expo Call for Proposals Now Open

WASHINGTON (Sept. 4, 2024)Common Ground Alliance (CGA), the nation’s premier association dedicated to protecting underground utility lines, people who dig near them and their communities, announced that the Call for Proposals for the 2025 CGA Conference & Expo is open through Oct. 16.

CGA is preparing to celebrate 25 years of dedication to our mission and will be “looking forward to looking back” as members gather for the annual Conference next April and celebrate the progress achieved. With the Conference just seven months away, CGA is seeking session proposals from industry professionals and subject matter experts to facilitate solutions-driven discussions and formulate decisive actions that can be implemented to reduce damages to underground utilities.

The 2025 CGA Conference & Expo will take place April 7-10 at the Orlando World Center Marriott, and is the largest gathering of its kind, bringing together experts and decision-makers for a week of collaboration to address the top issues associated with underground utility damage. With a focus on celebrating the anniversary and the progress made on the mission to prevent underground utility damage, there will be educational and action-oriented programming, including roundtable discussions, innovative presentations, interactive breakout sessions and networking events. Presenting at the 2025 CGA Conference & Expo provides industry experts with an opportunity to become part of the damage prevention industry’s evolution.

Key topic areas that are of interest to CGA members and Conference attendees include:

  • Proven strategies and solutions to achieve 50-in-5
  • Critical role of the owner/operator as the leader in driving down damages
  • Technology applications advancing damage prevention
  • Improving accountability, efficiency and communication across the 811 process
  • Reaching excavators and likely diggers through outreach, education and engagement
  • Successful approaches to meeting surges in locate demand during increased infrastructure buildout
  • Importance of effective safe digging laws and regulations

“The 2025 CGA Conference & Expo marks an important milestone for damage prevention, and I am thrilled to convene industry leaders to discuss the latest strategies to help us achieve our goal of reducing damages by 50 percent over five years. The Conference will also be a celebration of the progress that has been made over the past 25 years,” said CGA President and CEO Sarah K. The 2024 CGA Conference & Expo, which took place in Colorado, attracted 1,400 damage prevention leaders across 16 key industries, including leading utilities, state 811 call centers, oil and gas pipeline, construction, insurance, equipment manufacturing and underground locating technology companies.

Those interested in serving as an industry expert or thought leader may submit outcome-oriented and results-forward session proposals using this online application through Oct. 16.
